Unsere Nr. 244 kommt heute von the doubljuh, welchen wir seit einer gefühlten Ewigkeit aufmerksam verfolgen. Neben seinem aktiven Auflegen, ist er auch Mitgründer des international bekannten Blogs https://ift.tt/thpTDxb.
Seine Sets bestechen durch eine enorme, hohe Qualität, welche sich durch die stringente Trackauswahl und dem geschichtartigen Aufbau auszeichnen. Stilistisch bringt er eigentlich in jedes seiner Sets eine Portion Sonnenschein hinein. So auch in unserer neusten Ausgabe von Afterhour Sounds.
Dennoch überraschte uns die Aufnahme komplett, denn das Set ist gespickt mit alten Klassikern aus so ziemlich jedem Genre, was Musik zu bieten hat. Musik die nicht nur ein Schmunzeln aufs Gesicht zaubert, sondern auch zum Mitsummen und je nach Textkenntnis, auch zum Mitsingen einlädt. Hier und da schleicht sich aber auch ein elektronischer Track hinein. So ganz konnte er es dann doch nicht lassen.
Im Gesamten ist der Mix absolut einzigartig und zeitlos geworden. Er funktioniert definitiv jederzeit und über alle Generationen hinweg.
Wie es zu diesem außergewöhnlichen Mix gekommen ist und was für ihn eine gute Afterhour ausmacht, verrät er uns unter anderem in unserem Kurzinterview.
– Wie bist du zur elektronischen Musik gekommen?
Ich bin dank meines großen Bruders früh mit House Music in Kontakt gekommen. Bei uns auf dem Land in Sachsen Anhalt gab es damals eine sehr aktive Szene und viele Jugendliche aus unserem Dorf haben sehr früh angefangen aufzulegen. So habe ich auch mit 14 meine ersten Plattenspieler bekommen und vor allem Disco House, Vocal House und French House aufgelegt. Meine großen Vorbilder waren damals Armand Van Helden, Bad Boy Bill, Fat Boy Slim und natürlich einige regionale Djs wie z.B. Manuel Beat.
– Was macht für dich eine gute Afterhour aus?
Zu einer guten Afterhour gehören für mich die richtigen Leute. Eine bunte offene Truppe mit der man Schabernack treiben kann!
– Welche Überlegungen hattest du beim Erstellen des Podcasts?
Ich habe mich sehr gefreut mit diesem Set zu meinen Wurzeln zurückkehren zu können. Viele von den Tracks lagen schon länger auf meiner Festplatte und ich wollte sie unbedingt mal in einem Set spielen, bisher hatte es aber nie gepasst. Zudem bin ich auch sehr froh, dass ich einen bisher unveröffentlichten Song von meinen guten Freund Shahin einbauen zu können (Shahin – Sunny Beam ab 26Min.).

Coming from a family of musicians, Fiona Kraft has always been surrounded by music, she started to play piano when she was just a child. As a teenager, she launched her modeling career and signed with biggest fashion agencies; despite a tight schedule of the fashion industry her passion for music led her to work as a resident dj every Sunday afternoon in Lyon’s barge called “La Plateforme” in 2014.
Fiona’s artistic soul and the need to express herself brought her to music production and in 2019 she released her debut single “Arenaz” on Tinnit Music. In 2021 her track “Nomad”, released on Sudam Recordings, gained big support by Black Coffee and Luciano.
Fiona Kraft has developed distinctive style by blending afrohouse vibe and tight beats and has shared decks with: Black Coffee, Miss Kittin, Manoo, Guy Gerber, Jerome Sydenham. In 2022 her touring schedule is very tight with gigs across the Europe and in clubs such as Hi in Ibiza, Magazzini Generali in Milan, The Sanctuary in Mykonos, Phi Beach in Sardinia.
From Melodic Techno to Afrohouse sounds, her rhythmic and progressive mixes with euphoric breaks are instant dancefloor fillers
