Supernova, the Italian pair consisting of ‘Emijay’ Nencioni and Giacomo ‘G.O.D.I’ Godi are one of the constants in the international house music scene. They release on their own label ‘Lapsus Music‘ as well as big labels like Elrow Music, 8bit and Stereo Productions, and now prove why they’re at the top of their game once more.

Now they’re coming up with their new EP ‘Entitled The Game’.

Up first, ‘The Game’ is a rock solid roller with turbulent acid lines buried deep in the mix. Twinkling melodies rain down the face of it and the whole groove is bulky, heavy and hard to ignore. After various breakdowns it keeps on kicking and is sure to make a big impact on the floor. Then comes ‘Back in a Minute’ that makes things even more tough and kicking with some freaky vocals layered in for extra pow, while the ‘Club House Mix’ of the same track, is more loose and lively, with gooey and elastic bass driving the thing along uninterrupted for six sizzling minutes.

Vakant main man and Watergate star Mathias Kaden then remixes the same cut and flips it into a silky smooth house cut filled with energy.

Mathias Kaden – Studio Remixes Vol. 1 (VR 06)

Letztes Jahr wurde Studio 10, das Debut-Album von Mathias Kaden, groß gefeiert. Top 10 Platzierungen in allen nennswerten Musikpostillen und Anerkennung bei der DJ-Riege. Da dachten sich die Damen und Herren von Vakant wohl, dass man aus der Zitrone noch ein wenig mehr Saft rausholen kann. In solch einem Fall werden dann immer nahe oder auch weniger nahe stehende Künstler angefragt, ob sie denn nicht das ein oder andere Stück remixen wollen. So ist das auch bei Studio 10 passiert.

Für die erste der momentan 2 releases umfassenden Studio Remixes hat man sich niemand geringeren als DJ Koze ins Boot geholt. Koze hat sich für den Track auch gleich noch den freundlichen Japaner Tomomi Ukumori angefreundet und in wieder mit reingeschnipselt (digital natürlich, also rein virtuell). Wie der Herr Adolf Noise nunmal so ist, gibt es ein langgezogenes deepes Stück Musik, was in seiner Subtilität einfach toll ist. Vielleicht tragen dazu auch einfach nur die eingesprochenen Vocals von Ukumori bei . Auch wenn da eine Einkaufsliste runtererzählt wird, es hat was. Kannten wir bis jetzt nur bei Kabale und Liebe. Oder es ist der sich ständig wiederholende, tiefe Gong irgendwo in den Mitteltönen der eine ganz eigene Athmosphäre aufbaut. Was es auch ist, wir freuen uns.
