Gui Boratto – Take Control

Die Hook ist Segen und Fluch zugleich. Ist sie eingängig trällern alle mit und der Track wird garantiert wiedererkannt. Hören wir sie zu oft, nervt sie und wie skippen weiter. Die Hook ist Pop. Einem dem sowas absolut egal ist, ist Gui Boratto. Der Feuert mit seinem Pop-Techno einfach nur Hits raus, die dann passenderweise zu großen Fußballtunieren ihren Zenit erreichen. Und wir erwischen uns jedes mal dabei, die Nummern abzufeiern. Nach kurzem Selbstzweifel ist das dann auch ok und wir drehen auf.

Man der Junge ist Brasilianer, der muss dieses Jahr quasi abliefern und das tut er. Eingängig, poppig, dufte. Mit Remixen von Danny Daze, Weval und Come and Hell kommt dann auch noch die nötige Ernsthaftigkeit für geneigte Tanzflächenstampfer dazu. Ab nach Brasilien.

Gui Boratto – Too Late

Gui Boratto liefert wieder. Die Too Late EP macht die Entscheidung für einen favourite Track schwer. Der gleichnamige Track “Too Late” schmückt sich wie ein Wolf mit Glitzer im seichten Housegesäusel und bringt dann eine sauber produzierte Bassline, dass unsere Kaffeetasse wackelt. Hier wird Open Air Material geliefert.
Heimliches Liebling ist aber “We can Go”. Unruhige Hihats und ein Synthie auf Acid sorgen geben uns das gefühl, dass es völlig ok ist auch mal einen Gui Boratto anzuschmeissen. Der Typ ist einfach vielseitig.

SOTD: Gui Boratto – This Is Not The End (Michael Mayer Mix)

Manchmal muss es so richtig fies massenkompatibel sein. Dann wollen wir es cheesy und es soll sich ein wenig nach Großhalle anfühlen. Das, so könnten böse Zungen agumentieren, trifft doch bei Gui Boratto zu. Vielleicht, würden wir da erwidern. Aber wenn der Bürgermeister von Köln Mr Kompakt Records Himself, Michael Mayer an diese – eigentlich recht alte – Nummer ran gelassen wird, ist der Track, den er anpackt, fast über jede Kritik erhaben. Und im Zuge dieser Schutzbehauptung schwingen wir einfach mit und wippen im Takt zu “This Is Not The End”.
