Kora @ Zénon 2023 ☉ Summer Sunset Session

Allo les ami(e)s ♥

Just received the recording of this moment from the summer and in the midst of a very dynamic and energetic touring season, this is probably the set I felt most in flow with, and yet the most intimate of all, at home in the region of Mattawinie.

Now a yearly tradition, our close group of friends has been co-creating an estival celebration in the North of Québec in a village called St-Zénon. This gathering evolved so much over the years, strengthening friendships and an inspiring sense of community, healing, co-creation, love and overall total fun.

I had the chance to play on the patio of the wooden cabin on the Friday afternoon, over looking the Boréal forest. As Pachamama was dancing with us, rain, clouds, sun and stars were part of the journey while I was soundtracking the sunset with some of my favourite humans.

As I didn’t share any sets in the recent months, I feel this could capture really well summer 2023 for me, and hopefully, for you as well!

Grateful for all the Zénon family for co-creating this space and for David, Vincent & Vincent for gifting me the chance to play music in this special setting. Thanks to my love Ashlee for the cover picture.

I dedicate this set to friendship, that special family we choose, and that chooses us back.

Love to all & thank you so much for listening x

Mikael

The Seekers of Light Babylon at ADE 2021 – Arc of music

Hello loves,

With the slow progression of January, we decided to celebrate this day with some warm memories from 2021. Time to fill ourselves with music and hope once again!

Let’s enjoy an another set from our Arc of Music (@arcofmusic). His melodic tunes always helps us to cherish our deep feelings and create lots of smiles on our faces. This set was truly so colourful and perfectly placed during the first hours of our The Seekers of Light Babylon at ADE weekend.

Hope you enjoy this journey to go back to the moment where the music was taking over.

With love,
The Gardens of Babylon

SOTD: Moodyman – Why Do You Feel

SOTD: Agaric – Get Off My Mind (Axel Boman Remix)

Cheesyness hin, cheesyness her.

SOTD: Butch – Drummers Drama

SOTD: Noir & Haze – Around (Solomun Vox Mix)

“What goes around just comes around” kennen wir in den unterschiedlichsten Variationen.

Have you ever felt like you’ve been hurt before? By the ones that said they only loved you more.

Inflicted pain and scars of sorrow. Like an empty shell I wait for tomorrow.

I sit there wondering why you walked away. Did I ever do you wrong in any way?

Was it something I said to you that made you change?

There is no more sun; there’s only cloudy days. Yeah.

What goes around, will come around, and come back and get ya.

SOTD: Ruede Hagelstein – Give A Little Slap To Your Soul

“Who am I? That’s what Ruede Hagelstein asks himself when he looks at the reflection in the mirror every morning when he gets up. Then the image goes into the studio and produces tracks for Upon You for him. The first one sings „Give a little slap to your soul” darkly and romanticly at a relaxed 120 bpm into the mike and has taken up lodgings on A1 of our UY 047. The second plays piano, even if just paraphrased. The B1 beat requires a slightly faster dancer that A1. Then the third member of the group on B2 with a quite definitive minimal touch, sounds a bit like Peter and the Wolf at the LSD Opera…hop hop off you go then my lovelies….”
