Soon to release music via the likes of R&S Records and Crosstown Rebels, Javier Orduna makes his comeback on Exploited Ghetto.

“Gaelito” hits you immediately with its thumping bottom end and head-nodding shakers, with echoing claps and propulsive hi-hats soon combining to formulate a driving groove. Brooding, swirling bass and synth leads lurk menacingly beneath, a teasing filter action keeping them on a leash for the time being. The percussion continues to build as one bold synth melody courageously breaks through the filter barrier, promising something more heady to come with its gently triumphant mood.

But instead restraint is the watchword here. Delicate arpeggios twinkle like stars as we head towards the sumptuous, stripped-back breakdown. As we return to the groove, the sweet synth motifs continue to filter in and out of focus, and with careful placement provide a gentle ebb and flow which makes this track a perfect set-builder.

Bunte Kuh is back with a brilliant remix package that finds some on point names add their own spin to Roman Blum’s Menekeita. First up is Amount, who goes for a zoned out and dreamy deep house remix characterised by a hook lead synth that’s buried deep beneath smeared sci fi fads. Debal Sommer then goes for a more rugged and dark track with phased bass and corrugated hooks that rumble over the drums. A break down brings an epic lead synth to the fore and from there you’re carried off into the cosmos. Last of all, Foolik offers a spritely version with deep drums and excellent synth work that is full of soul and steps you up for a great ride. This is a standout package that offers three varied and vital cuts.

Picked Sound: Robot Koch – Crystal Grid (Ryan Davis Reverie Edit)

My second work for Robot´s label is a remix for one of his own ‘Crystal Grid’
I chopped, reversed and pitched the original samples glueing them together again as a 3 part cinematic mini composition. Starting with ambiences and subtle rhythms that feel like you listen to your inner body while your journey goes further and turns your attention to your near surroundings as the piano and beats get more defined. The third act is opening up an ocean of sounds filling your mind from every source of sound you can absorb till the wave of excitement coincides back to your inner self.

The whole ep includes many more great takes on Robot´s music by Daniel Brandt, Chi Thanh and Jan Wagner and new material that hasnt made it onto his album.

We instantly fell in love with the sounds of @esteble, once we encountered their work on labels such as Anjunadeep, Do Not Sit on the Furniture, Laut & Louise and others. Soon after, we met the Dutch duo in person during ADE 2018 to discover two energetic, cheerful and humble guys pursuing a true musical vision.
