Another wonderfully deep, melodious and evocative creation. Opening with the hazy clouded deep house chug in the title track ‘Oslo’, the distant, pulsating chords and off set rhythm cut through this in their second, ’Toulouse’. The third track is a gritty, darker affair titled ‘Som’, and to close, ‘Joni’, with intricate drums upfront to lead warm chords, vocal samples and a minimal percussive groove.

The tides are turning for Mike Shannon and Takeshi Nishimoto, back with their second collaborative effort as Blue Fields. A project that debuted under Shannon’s own Haunt Music in 2012 with Ghost Story, their second album, Swimming in the Shadows is a deeper, more experimental piece that focuses on change, memory, and movement.
Completed over the course of four years, Swimming in the Shadows was written and recorded in Berlin, with Shannon behind production and sound design, and Nishimoto on guitar. Influenced by the turning of leaves and life’s inevitable transformations, Swimming in the Shadows swelters with feelings of deep unrest and sounds heavy with emotion.
Opening numbers “Paper Cuts” and “Falling in Deep” set the pace with dreamy, looping melodies and Parisian singer Ilhem Khodja’s hazy vocals. The momentum builds with darker, driving grooves and mutating synths — Cobblestone Jazz’s Danuel Tate, on the Rhodes, Vocoder and Moog Bass, features on the album’s stand out “I Felt That It Was True.” The album moves into more melancholy territory with “The Breeze Through The Floor” and the closing piece “Paper Ghost” as moments of distortion and deranged off-key tones melt back into the duo’s familiar pretty, underwater-like sounds.

After the first release of Daniel Stefanik on Ace Up My Sleeve Records, here’s the second round with Chris Wayfare. Already 14 years ago, Chris was well known in the in the national Drum’n’Bass scene as Mr. Lettuce. As Chris Wayfarer, his sounds is more or less ol’ classic Techno and House in such a way, that a melodious brew with a huge portion of groove is being created. He found two tracks, that he could provide us with.
“On The Move” is a crystal-clear stomper with a phat bassline, oldschool beats and a truly thunder of effects. The second track is called “Copy & Paste” and is both a playful and experimental Techno-Electronica piece of music with a slight Kalkbrenner attitude and a warm melody embracing piano sounds and a catchy melody. Chris is always on the move!

Frozen, isolated from the outer world. The only source of food from the old world was an old rusty transporter owned by a vietnamese guy from a restaurant called “The Golden Turtle”, parked in a frosty backyard.
From time to time some Silverheight Gray Seals came by on which Ole and Martin could warm themselves up a little bit. But the times were hard.
In a special moment after inhaling some expanding foam came the idea to just follow the Gray Seals through the door which was open the whole goddamn time.
3 years were gone, the freedom so near, but their brains were frozen.
But all in all this had one good thing…
In the shimmering light of their playstation 1, while playing some tekken, sitting at their tiletable, between tubing tobacco and coffee whitener, they had this awesome idea for an homage for that long time and that special street they were living on for so long, the Reilstreet!

A new year a new Suol Summer Daze. Suol Records gathers artists from their Suol family to put together tracks with that special sunbeams and summer atmosphere – soulful deep house music.
After some years of the compilation being released in the familiar format of an album with a tight tour de force of tracks, Soul-Team decided to try with a new form – this issue will be a series of 3 compilation EPs. Now you have to buy 3 pieces instead of one. Business call this upscaling. Each EP will therefore consist of 6 previously unreleased tracks from both Suol and the extended family.
This EP takes off with Atjazz’ “Programme Sunlight”, which is a trippy deep summer groove. Chopstick & Johnjon’s “Last Night” with a solid bassline and atmospheric build up. Then there is Matthias Vogt’s “Chanterelle” with fancy Jazz background and precise attention to details. M.ono’s “Wanna Give” serves a driving african groove, classic House piano riffs and vocal samples, a dancefloor pleaser. Carlo’s “Got Ya”, is Disco Funk is some infused House tune. In the blend of the crispy House music you’ll also find tracks of a more R&B like sound, with vocals and catchy hooks. As in the sixth and last track (for this part), Meggy & Tigerskin’s “Bygone Eras” show some groove and vocals to modern dance music.
After the launch of their Superfriends label at the end of last year, Andhim return with an extensive remix package of their “Tosch“ EP, including the works of the likes of Roman Flügel, Clavis, Jimi Jules and Acid Pauli. “Tosch EP (Remixes)” is out since April, 17th via Superfriends Records.
