After his successful album “Whateverism” Turbojazz returns to his label Last Forever Records to release a new EP project called “Turbojazz & Friends” where he has collaborated with some old and new friends like the hottest voice in house music right now: Rona Ray.

With whom he created this second single “Like You” a soulful deep track where Tommy, once again, infuses his whole musical background in a very unique way. Putting together elements from the motorcity’s sound with amapiano(ish) drums and minimalistic synthetic leads, “Like You” takes you on an emotional journey, where words and instruments work together to deliver the message of love and life.

Spektrum 5 continues TAU’s quest to present the highest quality retrofuturism we can find, with an assorted cast of supremely talented artists all bringing their A-game for our beloved followers. So, here’s a breakdown of what to expect from this mouthwatering new compilation.

‘Ipanema Maneira’ from INVŌKER kicks off in dramatic style with a pensive build up. INVŌKER’s musicality is evident throughout, with the steady rise in tension timed to perfection, each additional layer of sound cultivating a spinetingling atmosphere. A sublime cut. A.C.N. brings the heat with ‘Hekima’, a wonderfully melodic track that brings us back to the emotive aspect of ourselves. Warm bass and inspiring pads take us inward, for some brief introspection, but soon the energy of the beats and the riff increase, eliciting an uplifting vibe.

“Esquimau presents the first release as an imprint that deals in deep and elegant house underground music. We are introducing you to a ‘Footloose’ EP by rising talent Bauhouse, spiced up with the remix by El Funkador. Bauhouse’s past releases on labels such as Closer To Truth, Miura Records and Mole Music showcased a sound that skilfully mixes elements of Deep House and Tech House. With tracks ‘Footloose’ and ‘Thelonious Chipmunk’ Bauhouse abandoned classic deep house influences in favour of a delicious jazzy, dusty and warming take on Deep House. ‘Footloose’ is sublime with sampled glittering piano motifs and luscious chords rising above a solid house rhythm and a lovely deep bassline. ‘Thelonious Chipmunk’ is a jazzed-up groove for cosy backroom gatherings, featuring tight swinging percussion beautifully coupled with piano sample cuts. The El Funkador Remix gets a more stripped down take but no less cavernous and heady. He slipped Footloose Remix into a club-ready groove, preserving the sonic aesthetic of the original while adding depth and density with skippy rhythm and perfectly syncopated baseline.”

Steve Bug teams up once again with long time collaborator Cle for three tracks of elevated house music.

Hallucinous slips into a slinky groove from the off – a restless baseline interacting with a charming two note string sound and skipping percussion.

Discrete Circuit takes things a little deeper vibe-wise, delivering a tight groove and arpeggiated synths that bring a psychedelic rush to the fore.

The third track is a remix of the title track by Leeni and Danilo Kupfernagel, who merge a firing deep house rhythm track with dubbed out chord stabs and atmospheric pads and vocal samples.
